Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 12 February 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Lodo website at joinlodo.com (including all subdomains) and the Lodo comparison and switching service (together, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you are entering into a binding agreement with LODO TECHNOLOGIES LTD, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17000602 (“Lodo”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

Registered address: Senna Building, Gorsuch Place, London, E2 8JF, England

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you (for example, by email or via a notice in the Service). Your continued use of the Service after changes have been notified constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Service Description

Lodo is an ongoing comparison and switching service that helps you find better deals on mobile phone plans and energy tariffs.

What Lodo does

  • Lodo provides an AI-powered service that searches and compares mobile plans and energy tariffs, presents personalised offers based on your profile and preferences, and can complete switches on your behalf.
  • Ongoing service: Lodo is not a one-off comparison tool. We retain your conversation history and preferences to provide continuity of service, so that future switches are faster and easier — without re-entering your information from scratch.
  • Notifications: Where available, Lodo may offer deal notifications via messaging channels. These require separate opt-in consent. All switching requires your explicit confirmation — Lodo will never switch you without your approval.

Anonymous and authenticated use

  • You may browse the Lodo website and use the chatbot for general comparisons without creating an account.
  • To proceed with a switch (mobile or energy), you must create an account and authenticate.

How Lodo is funded

The Service is free for you to use. Lodo may receive commission payments from some of the providers featured on our platform when you switch through us. This does not affect the price you pay. We aim to present offers that are genuinely relevant to your needs, but you should be aware that commercial relationships may exist between Lodo and some providers.

3. Important Limitations and Disclaimers

Please read this section carefully.

Financial advice disclaimer

Lodo does not provide regulated financial advice, and its AI chatbot is not authorised or supervised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). All information provided is for general informational purposes only and should not be considered personal financial advice, an investment recommendation, or a substitute for professional advice. Users should conduct their own research or consult a qualified adviser before making any financial decisions. Any actions taken based on information from Lodo are at the user's own discretion.

No guarantee of savings

While Lodo aims to help you find better deals, we do not guarantee that switching through Lodo will result in savings. The suitability and cost of any deal depends on your individual circumstances, usage patterns, and the terms of your current and new contracts.

AI accuracy

Lodo uses artificial intelligence to power its chatbot and comparison tools. All of our services undergo thorough testing before they are made available to you, and our technical team works continuously to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the information we provide. That said, AI-generated information may occasionally contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or errors. You should independently verify important details before making switching decisions.

We are always looking for ways to improve. If you come across any inaccuracy, please let us know at [email protected] — we aim to investigate and resolve reported issues within days.

Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may temporarily suspend or restrict access to the Service for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.

4. Account and Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use the Service.

By creating an account, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • The information you provide is accurate, complete, and up to date
  • You will keep your account information current

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must not share your login credentials with anyone else, and you must not create multiple accounts.

If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

5. Your Obligations

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means (other than those provided by Lodo) to access the Service
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these obligations. Where we detect illegal activity or serious non-compliance, we reserve the right to pursue all available legal remedies.

6. Agent Authorisation

For mobile switching, you authorise Lodo to act as your agent to submit your details to third-party providers and place orders on your behalf.

This means you authorise Lodo to:

  • Submit your payment details (card number, CVV, expiry date, billing address) to the provider
  • Submit your delivery address to the provider
  • Submit your chosen provider account credentials (email and password) to the provider

Your payment card details and provider credentials are handled exclusively by our certified secure vault provider. Lodo never stores full card numbers, CVVs, or provider credentials.

When you complete a switch through Lodo, you contract directly with the provider — not with Lodo. We facilitate the sign-up process, but the resulting service agreement is between you and the provider. Please review the provider's terms and conditions before proceeding with a switch.

7. Energy Switching

For energy switching, you authorise Lodo to share your personal data with our energy switching partner to obtain quotes, perform a credit check, execute a switch, and set up a Direct Debit with your new supplier.

Credit check data

A credit check will be performed using the information you provide, including your date of birth, employment status, residential status, and address history. We retain your credit check data for the duration of your account to enable faster future switches — you will not need to re-enter it each time.

Bank details

To set up your Direct Debit, you will provide your bank details (sort code and account number). Bank details are re-collected each time you switch and are passed directly to our energy switching partner. Lodo never stores your bank details.

Contractual relationship

When you complete an energy switch, you contract directly with the energy supplier — not with Lodo or our switching partner. We facilitate the switch, but the resulting energy supply agreement is between you and the supplier. Please review the supplier's terms and conditions before proceeding.

8. Notifications

Lodo may from time to time offer deal notifications via messaging channels (such as email or messaging apps). Where available, these notifications require separate opt-in consent and are not bundled with your agreement to these Terms.

If you opt in to notifications:

  • Lodo may send you messages about deals relevant to your profile
  • Any switching initiated via a notification still requires your explicit confirmation — Lodo will never switch you without your approval
  • You may use your stored profile data to speed up a switch, but payment details are always re-collected

You can unsubscribe at any time by:

  • Following the opt-out instructions in any notification message
  • Updating your notification preferences in your Lodo account settings
  • Emailing us at [email protected]

9. Third-Party Providers and Trademarks

The Service displays names, logos, and trademarks of third-party mobile and energy providers for comparison and identification purposes only. No affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship by any third-party provider is implied.

All trademarks, logos, and brand names are the property of their respective owners and are used in accordance with fair and honest comparative advertising under UK law.

Lodo may receive commission from some partners when you switch through us. This does not influence the order in which offers are presented, and does not affect the price you pay.

If you believe your trademarks are being used improperly, please contact us at [email protected].

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Lodo website and within the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, the chatbot, underlying code, and branding — is the property of LODO TECHNOLOGIES LTD or its licensors, and is protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.

You may view and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may download or print a temporary electronic copy of pages for this purpose only.

You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Service without our prior written consent.

11. Links to Other Websites

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources that are not controlled by Lodo. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites.

A link does not imply endorsement by Lodo. You access third-party websites at your own risk.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at joinlodo.com/privacy.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranties (express, implied, or statutory) including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity arising from or related to your use of the Service.
  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lodo, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or any breach of these Terms.

This section is subject to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (Part 2) and the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 (Sections 3, 6, and 11).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Intentional unlawful conduct
  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Where we make significant changes, we will take steps to inform you — for example, by email or via a notice in the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after changes have been notified constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service.

15. Dispute Resolution

We hope you never need to raise a dispute with us, but if something goes wrong, please contact us first at [email protected] and we will do our best to resolve it.

If we are unable to resolve your complaint, you may be able to refer your dispute to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not currently required to, and do not, participate in dispute resolution procedures before a consumer arbitration body. However, we will consider the merits of any request on a case-by-case basis.

16. General

  • Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
  • Jurisdiction: Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
  • Third-party rights: No person other than you and Lodo shall have any rights under these Terms. The Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 does not apply.
  • Waiver: No waiver of any term shall be effective unless in writing and signed by Lodo. A failure to enforce any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without your consent.
  • Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lodo regarding your use of the Service. They supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and representations.
