How to cancel or switch

If you simply want to leave giffgaff without moving to another provider, log into your account, go to 'Orders & payments', select 'Terminate your contract', and click 'End my contract'. You can also do this in the giffgaff app by navigating to 'Account', then 'Payments', 'Your contract', 'Terminate your contract', and finally 'End my contract'. There is no notice period, and your contract ends immediately.

If you want to switch to a new provider and keep your number, you will need a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC). Request a PAC by texting 'PAC' to 65075, calling 43431, or using your online account. Give this PAC to your new provider, who will handle the transfer and cancellation. If you do not want to keep your number, request a Service Termination Authorisation Code (STAC) by texting 'STAC' to 75075, calling 43431, or online. Both codes are valid for 30 days. The number transfer usually completes within one working day after your new provider submits the PAC.

What happens to your account

When you leave giffgaff, you can keep your phone number if you use a PAC. If you do not, your number will be recycled after your account is closed. giffgaff does not provide email addresses or bundled services like broadband or energy, so there are no additional services to transfer or lose.

Any unused credit or payback rewards in your giffgaff account will be forfeited upon cancellation. It is a good idea to use up any remaining balance or rewards before you leave, as these cannot be refunded automatically.
